Pinchin is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our Geotechnical Services team in Waterloo. The new role reports to the Operations Manager. Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Geotechnical, Civil or Geological Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Intermediate level experience in geotechnical engineering with project coordination / management experience
  • Either licensed or the ability to become licensed with the PEO or OACETT
  • Able to work closely with our project teams across the company where geotechnical support may be of assistance, such as Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation and Building Sciences
  • Experience with drilling supervision for geotechnical investigations
  • Experience working in accordance with Book 7 requirements and preparing or coordinating traffic control plans for field work
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, showcasing the ability to communicate effectively, as well as proactively respond to clients on time sensitive items
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, clients and managers
  • Proven technical writing skills in the preparation of geotechnical engineering reports and letters for clients

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule drilling investigations, site visits, related field activities, and meetings with clients and contractors
  • Arrange Ontario One Call locates and coordinate with private locators, drillers, and other subcontractors before field work begins
  • Prepare and coordinate traffic control requirements for field activities, including traffic control planning where required
  • Ensure field work is properly planned with respect to access, utility clearances, health and safety, and site logistics
  • Attend field assignments and provide drilling supervision during geotechnical investigations
  • Support project managers with planning, execution, and tracking of geotechnical projects
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, contract documents, and technical reports
  • Liaise with field staff and internal teams to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met
  • Track project progress, maintain documentation, and support reporting requirements
  • Assist with data compilation and review for geotechnical assessments (e.g., soil, slope stability, excavation support)
  • Communicate with clients to gather information and provide project updates
  • Support quality assurance by reviewing documentation for completeness and consistency
