About The Position

Are you an early-career technician with an interest in construction materials testing and geotechnical fieldwork? We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Technician I in the Fort Myers, FL location to support construction projects through field observation, testing, and documentation. In this role, you will work alongside engineers, geologists, and scientists on a variety of geotechnical and environmental projects across both public and private sectors. Work Schedule Full-time position working four (4) 10-hour days per week Schedule may include early start times and flexibility based on project and field demands

Requirements

High school diploma or degree in civil engineering, environmental science, or related field
0–2+ years of construction materials testing or geotechnical field experience (entry-level considered)
Basic knowledge of soil, concrete, and asphalt testing; nuclear density gauge experience a plus
Ability to read civil drawings and project specifications
Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

ACI, Nicet, FDOT/CTQP certifications preferred

Responsibilities

Perform field observation of construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards
Conduct soil testing, including moisture and density testing using a nuclear density gauge
Perform concrete testing (slump, air content, and unit weight)
Conduct asphalt testing, including temperature and compaction verification
Interpret and utilize civil drawings, project specifications, and geotechnical reports
Accurately complete daily field reports, testing documentation, timesheets, and expense reports
Assist laboratory and drilling teams as needed
Maintain and properly handle company-issued equipment
