Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical emphasis, Geology, or Geotechnical Engineering.
- 0–10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience preferred, including subsurface investigations, geotechnical analysis, and report preparation.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in geotechnical analysis software and standard engineering tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interact with clients and contractors.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field explorations, review subsurface conditions, and analyze laboratory testing results to characterize soil and rock properties.
- Develop geotechnical recommendations and design solutions for foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, and earthwork construction.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive geotechnical reports documenting site conditions, engineering analyses, and design recommendations.
- Provide technical guidance during construction, including observation of foundation systems, earthwork, and site preparation activities.
- Assist with project planning and coordination to ensure geotechnical work is completed on schedule and within project budgets.
- Work closely with civil, structural, and environmental engineers, contractors, and project teams to support successful project delivery.
