Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical emphasis, Geology, or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 0–10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience preferred, including subsurface investigations, geotechnical analysis, and report preparation.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in geotechnical analysis software and standard engineering tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interact with clients and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field explorations, review subsurface conditions, and analyze laboratory testing results to characterize soil and rock properties.
  • Develop geotechnical recommendations and design solutions for foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, and earthwork construction.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive geotechnical reports documenting site conditions, engineering analyses, and design recommendations.
  • Provide technical guidance during construction, including observation of foundation systems, earthwork, and site preparation activities.
  • Assist with project planning and coordination to ensure geotechnical work is completed on schedule and within project budgets.
  • Work closely with civil, structural, and environmental engineers, contractors, and project teams to support successful project delivery.
