About The Position

As a Geotechnical Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants Inc. (CEC) in our Monroeville, PA office, you'll be responsible for geotechnical subsurface investigations related to building foundations, cut and fill slopes, retaining walls, landslide remediations, and pavements. You will coordinate and monitor subsurface drilling, classify soil and rock samples, prepare boring logs, develop laboratory testing programs, interpret laboratory data, perform geotechnical analyses and prepare detailed geotechnical reports to be reviewed by a project manager. You will perform field reconnaissance to identify potential geohazards for proposed developments. Projects will be for a diverse set of clients in the commercial, retail, institutional, power, oil and gas, and industrial market sectors. This role will also include erosion and sedimentation control inspection, as well as construction materials testing which will include concrete, foundation, masonry and pavement construction testing. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Geotechnical Engineering
  • 0+ years' of experience
  • Ability to speak and write professionally
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with the desire to learn quickly and succeed professionally

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering
  • Previous internship experience preferred
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is a plus
