About The Position

MacKay is seeking a dedicated and relationship-driven Geotechnical Engineer with a geohazards focus to join their Infrastructure and Development team in Fort Collins, CO. This role involves performing geotechnical field investigations, installing and monitoring instrumentation, civil and geotechnical design and layout, and construction management activities. The engineer will also conduct investigations and damage assessments to determine the cause of structure failure, assess slope stability, and develop remediation plans. This position requires approximately 20% travel and offers a comfortable, collaborative work environment with flexible work arrangements.

Requirements

• B.S. in Civil Engineering
• M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering
• F.E required: ability to obtain a P.E. license within 4 years of graduation
• 0-4 years of relevant experience in infrastructure design and geohazard analysis
• Slope stability analyses
• Infiltration/Seepage analyses
• Deformation Analyses
• Geo-civil analyses and design
• Experience with slope stability software (SlopeW), seismic analysis, and deep foundation design
• Monitoring heavy civil construction projects
• Performing and reviewing engineering calculations
• Foundation design
• Landslide analyses and stabilizations

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical field investigations
• Installing and monitoring instrumentation
• Civil and Geotechnical design and layout
• Construction management activities
• Conduct investigations and damage assessment to determine the cause of structure failure.
• Assess slope stability and develop stabilization remediation plans.
• Implementing techniques such as compaction grouting, chemical grouting, and underpinning to stabilize soil.
