About The Position

Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting a Geotechnical EIT to join their operations team. Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a strong portfolio of development stage projects and operates three mines. The Young-Davidson mine is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines, located near Matachewan, Ontario. The company is seeking motivated and committed individuals to join their team, emphasizing growth, high performance, and a culture of safety and accountability. This role is for an early-career geotechnical professional who excels in analysis, problem-solving, and field-based work, and will play a strategic role in supporting ground stability and safe mining operations. The Geotechnical EIT will report to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer and will be responsible for implementing and managing key aspects of the Ground Control Management Plan, working closely with geotechnical and operations teams to drive continuous improvement in underground safety and ground support practices.

Requirements

  • 0–3 years of experience in mining or geotechnical engineering, with expertise in inspection, analysis, or ground support.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in field-based, safety-critical environments.
  • Bachelor’s in Mine Engineering or Geological Engineering.
  • Eligible for registration with a Professional Engineering Organization (EIT preferred).
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Deswik, Vulcan, or other mining software is an asset.
  • Accreditation in Underground Common Core modules is an asset.
  • Passion for underground mining safety and geotechnical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct underground mine inspections to assess ground conditions and identify potential risks.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of secondary ground support systems, including cable bolting.
  • Support the installation, monitoring, and maintenance of geotechnical instrumentation.
  • Analyze geotechnical data and provide recommendations to improve ground control performance.
  • Ensure adherence to the Ground Control Management Plan and applicable safety standards.
