About The Position

Geo Owl is seeking experienced Geospatial Analysts to support the JANUS Geography program. Analysts will collect, process, analyze, and maintain foundational geospatial data supporting mission-critical Land and Ground Cover production and other geospatial products. Candidates of varying experience levels are encouraged to apply and will be considered for placement based on their education, experience, and demonstrated technical proficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geographic Information Science (GIS), Remote Sensing, Geography, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant geospatial experience
  • Previous experience supporting JANUS Geography Land and Ground Cover efforts (e.g., VISNAV, IWLSISS, SoilScape, JG233, JG248, JG261, JG 282).
  • Experience using ArcGIS 10.x and/or ArcGIS Pro with applicable extensions, or ERDAS IMAGINE.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Windows File Explorer.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production-focused environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality geospatial products.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience producing standard and non-standard geospatial products and datasets is preferred.
  • Candidates with previous Quality Control (QC) experience supporting JANUS Geography production are strongly encouraged to apply and may be considered for senior-level positions.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, edit, and maintain foundational geospatial datasets.
  • Produce and maintain GIS products using ArcGIS 10.x, ArcGIS Pro, ERDAS IMAGINE, and related geospatial software.
  • Support JANUS Geography Land and Ground Cover production activities.
  • Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) to ensure product accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Interpret and process imagery and remote sensing data.
  • Maintain standardized file structures and documentation.
  • Collaborate with geographically dispersed teams to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office 365 and Windows File Explorer for documentation and workflow management.
