The History Department at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications and expressions of interest for the inaugural George and Bernice Wyss Phillipp Professor of History. This endowed professorship seeks a historian with a distinguished scholarly record and expertise in the History of Science and/or the History of Medicine. The successful candidate will have the academic qualifications for a tenured full professor and will be expected to maintain an active research agenda with an international profile, design interdisciplinary courses, mentor students, broaden the curriculum in the history of science and/or medicine within a liberal arts context, and participate in College and departmental service. Excellence in undergraduate teaching, including evidence-based strategies and fostering a sense of belonging for all students, is also required. The teaching load is 3 courses per year.
