About The Position

Energy Fuels Resources Inc. is hiring a Mine Geologist to provide geological expertise and support to surface and underground mining operations in Arizona. The role focuses on grade control, underground surveying, geological mapping, sample collection, data interpretation and analysis, and drill program management. The successful candidate will work closely with mining teams, geotechnical engineers, and exploration staff to optimize resource extraction and meet regulatory requirements. The position is based in Arizona, and relocation to the Flagstaff/Williams area is expected. Short-term temporary housing near the mine may be provided. The Mine Geologist supports grade control and mining operations by helping maintain target grades, preparing maps for miners, and supporting blast planning. The role also involves underground survey updates, geological and resource modeling, sampling and laboratory-result interpretation, database maintenance, technical reporting, geotechnical and safety support, environmental monitoring, and coordination with mine, production, development, and exploration staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Geology or a related field.
  • 0–5 years of relevant experience in a mining environment.
  • Strong understanding of geological principles and their application in mining.
  • Proficiency in geological mapping techniques and interpretation of geological data.
  • Experience in resource estimation, geological modeling, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with mine planning and operational processes.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical aspects of underground and surface mining.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with geological software and databases.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Provide up-to-date maps to miners showing potential production areas.
  • Ensure Geiger counters are used and maintained properly.
  • Support blast planning for large stopes by managing ring drilling and sublevel stope design.
  • Complete underground survey mapping and as-built updates during regular underground trips.
  • Install lasers or backsights/front sights periodically to guide development.
  • Import survey data into 3D modeling software and provide up-to-date maps.
  • Conduct detailed geological mapping of surface and underground mine areas.
  • Identify and document lithological units, structures, alteration zones, and mineralization.
  • Analyze geological data to interpret the spatial distribution and continuity of uranium and rare earth mineralization.
  • Collaborate with the exploration team to integrate exploration data into geological models.
  • Collect rock, soil, and drill core samples from mining areas and prepare and process samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Interpret and validate laboratory results to determine mineral grades and quality, and provide timely data to support mining decisions.
  • Assist with mineral resource estimation and modeling.
  • Contribute to technical reports, including geological models, resource statements, and mine plans.
  • Monitor and update geological databases to maintain data integrity and compliance.
  • Collaborate with geotechnical engineers on rock stability, slope design, and ground control measures.
