This may include performing field investigations, analyzing/interpreting data, and preparing technical reports for services provided.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Geological Engineering or related field
  • Entry level to 4 years of experience in a related field
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be able to successfully manage numerous assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently and within teams to achieve goals.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record.
  • Ability to continuously sit, stand, and walk
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work outside in frequent changes of temperatures
  • Ability to occasionally bend, squat, climb, push, and pull
  • Ability to work in environments containing dust and fumes
  • Ability to frequently drive to and from work sites, must have valid driver’s license with good-standing driving record
  • Ability to occasionally travel overnight (less than 35%)

Responsibilities

  • Performs soil and rock classification in the field and laboratory
  • Performs hand auger borings, standard DCP testing, and Kessler DCP testing
  • Site reconnaissance and boring layout
  • Supervises field exploration programs for transportation projects – must be willing to participate in overnight travel, and occasional night and/or weekend work
  • Communicates and coordinates with subcontractors
  • Assists with wetland delineation
  • Coordinates underground utility clearance
  • Field surveying
  • Other duties as assigned
