About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an Entry-Level Geologist or Environmental Scientist to join their team in the Philadelphia, PA; Conshohocken, PA or the East Windsor, NJ region. This position requires both field and office work, with the candidate expected to spend 50% to 75% of their time in the field. The role is slated to start in May/June 2026, and candidates graduating in May 2026 are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and team-building skills and be comfortable with a dynamic workflow. As part of the Resilience Environment team, the role will involve working alongside Senior Scientists and Engineers, Project/Program Managers, and Technical Experts on various activities supporting diverse environmental assessment and remediation projects, with a focus on emerging contaminant project portfolios and remediation capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related field (i.e., environmental science, physical science)

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
  • Overseeing drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation.
  • Conducting groundwater sampling.
  • Subcontractor oversight.
  • Operation and maintenance of remediation systems.
  • Performing vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys.
  • Conducting fieldwork with a focus on health and safety.
  • Preparing subcontracts and overseeing the work of subcontractors.
  • Writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
  • Task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establishment of subcontracts.
  • Conducting field work including soil, groundwater, and/or vapor sampling in the field.
  • Regional business travel for up to 1-2 days per week on average.
  • Occasional travel within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time, a few times per year.
