About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Scientist or Geologist to join our team in the New Jersey and Tristate area. This position involves both field and office work, with an expectation of spending 50% to 90% of the time in the field. As part of the Resilience Environment team, the position contributes to improving quality of life by delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in Environmental Science, Geology or related field

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the field is required

  • Previous industry, consulting, or regulatory internship experience

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
  • Overseeing drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation.
  • Conducting groundwater sampling.
  • Subcontractor oversight.
  • Operation and maintenance of remediation systems.
  • Performing vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys.
  • Conducting fieldwork with a focus on health and safety.
  • Preparing subcontracts and overseeing the work of subcontractors.
  • Writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
  • Task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establishment of subcontracts.
  • Conducting field work including soil, groundwater, and/or vapor sampling in the field.
  • Regional business travel for up to 1-2 days per week on average.
  • Occasional travel within the U.S. for up to two weeks at a time.
