About The Position

The East Genomic Medicine Service (East GMS) is seeking an experienced and ambitious Transformation Programme Manager to lead significant genomics transformation programmes within the NHS. This role involves moving beyond programme coordination to strategic transformation with measurable clinical impact, shaping the implementation of genomic medicine across the East of England to improve patient care, clinician support, and healthcare services. The position requires collaboration with clinical leaders, laboratory services, digital teams, operational managers, and partner organizations to manage complex programmes in areas such as Rare Disease, Cancer, Haem-Onc, Population Health, and Digital & Data. The successful candidate will translate strategic priorities into deliverable programmes, oversee implementation, monitor benefits, and ensure sustainable change in clinical practice. This role is ideal for individuals who excel at cross-organizational work, structuring complex challenges, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving large-scale change within a collaborative regional team focused on improving patient outcomes through genomics.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of a strategic portfolio of genomics transformation programmes across the East Genomic Medicine Service (East GMS).
  • Translate agreed clinical priorities into deliverable programmes that embed genomics into routine clinical practice.
  • Drive programme delivery, managing complex interdependencies.
  • Monitor benefits realisation and ensure measurable improvements in patient care, service performance, and genomic adoption.
  • Lead and deliver a range of strategic transformation portfolios across key clinical and enabling function priorities, such as Rare Disease, Cancer, Haemato-Oncology, Population Health, and Digital & data.
  • Provide programme leadership to ensure strategic priorities are translated into measurable improvements in clinical services, patient outcomes, and service performance.
  • Work closely with Clinical Leads, laboratory operational teams, and partner organisations.
