The Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care in the University of Wisconsin Department of Medicine and the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center seeks a medical oncologist with a genitourinary clinical and research focus. This is a tenure-track faculty opportunity, with applicants considered for Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor according to their experience and qualifications. The position is full- or part-time at 80%–100% and requires onsite work at a designated campus location. The role is identified as a position of trust involving access to vulnerable populations and requires an initial caregiver check and recurring checks every four years. The successful candidate will contribute to multidisciplinary GU oncology programs and may participate in the NIH-funded Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) through UW Carbone Cancer Center. Research may be clinical, translational, or health services focused, including areas such as precision medicine, immunotherapy, cellular therapies, and early-phase drug development. Academic expectations include 70%–75% protected time for scholarly activity, while clinical expectations include 25%–30% direct patient care at UW Health locations, including ambulatory care and consult-service attending. Providers also participate in clinical teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students and support the division’s and department’s teaching and clinical research missions. The role includes supporting efforts to improve diversity among clinical trial participants. The position offers negotiable compensation over 12 months. The employer describes benefits including vacation, holidays, sick leave, competitive insurance and savings accounts, and retirement benefits. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship; university sponsorship, including transfers of sponsorship and TN visas, is unavailable, and the department cannot support a J-1 waiver.
