About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a US Remote based Genetic Counselor to join our team! This position will provide both comprehensive prenatal genetic counseling and will also support our Results Reporting group. The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm eastern time zone.

Requirements

Masters degree in Human Genetics or Genetic Counseling
American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) certification or Active Candidate Status for ABGC
Ability to obtain multi-state licensure including NJ and PA
Highly organized, including excellent time management skills
Strong multi-tasking ability with excellent attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Application

Responsibilities

Provide virtual comprehensive prenatal genetic counseling to a diverse patient population following established genetic counseling practice guidelines and procedures
Provide focused genetic counseling regarding carrier screening and cell-free DNA results.
Will support multiple clients nationally
Ensures proper completion of counseling paperwork and documentation
Responsible for the communication of relevant results and coordinating appropriate follow-up, per client-specific requirements
Communicate and consult regularly with the clinical geneticist(s) and managers, as appropriate to situation
Participate regularly in staff meetings with counselors in the region
Serve as a genetic information resource for specific referring physician inquiries
Maintain appropriate client interaction and confidentiality
Be able to engage in professional growth opportunities including writing abstracts and publications, physician education and other projects
Have access to the expertise of a nation-wide organization of medical geneticists, biochemical and molecular geneticists, and over 100 counseling colleagues
