About The Position

Labcorp is seeking an onsite Genetic Counselor to join our team to support a busy Maternal Fetal Medicine Practice in Los Angeles, CA. This role offers the opportunity to provide direct patient care for a wide variety of complex indications from an extensive referral base. The Genetic Counselor will also have the chance to engage in professional growth opportunities including writing abstracts and publications, physician education, and other projects. Access to the expertise of a nation-wide organization of medical geneticists, biochemical and molecular geneticists, and over 100 counseling colleagues is available.

Requirements

• Masters degree in Human Genetics or Genetic Counseling
• American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) certification or Active Candidate Status for ABGC
• Highly organized, including excellent time management skills
• Strong multi-tasking ability with excellent attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

• 2 years or more experience as a certified Genetic Counselor
• 1 year or more experience of prenatal or reproductive Genetic Counseling

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite prenatal genetic counseling services for MFM practice in Los Angeles, CA
• Provide direct patient care for a wide variety of complex indications from an extensive referral base
• Engage in professional growth opportunities including writing abstracts and publications, physician education and other projects
