About The Position

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate Genetic Counseling Assistant to support our genetic counseling team. This role plays a key part in coordinating patient care, facilitating genetic testing, and ensuring a smooth experience for both patients and providers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Exposure to clinical trials or data management principles (not required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate genetic testing processes
  • Communicate with referring providers and patient families
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate care activities
  • Maintain and update databases and patient records
  • Request and manage medical records
  • Assist with billing investigations and prior authorizations
  • Support administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, and mailing
  • Partner with genetic counselors on a variety of daily operations
