Genetic Counseling Assistant - Student Intern
About The Position
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position for a Genetic Counseling Assistant - Student Intern at Carolinas Medical Center. The role involves performing duties such as patient and family visits, delivering support services, participating in studies, investigations, research projects, and other assignments. The intern will also provide administrative coverage, including answering phones and maintaining computer data, typing documents, creating spreadsheets and presentations, assisting with research projects, data analysis, and report creation, and entering data and filing. Effective verbal and written communication with all levels within the System and the public is essential.
Requirements
- Undergraduate, Master's or Postgraduate enrollment required.
- Excellent planning, prioritizing, oral/written communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and team skills required.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and ability to respond creatively to a rapidly changing environment required.
- Computer skills required.
Responsibilities
- Performs duties including patient and family visits, delivery of support services, studies, investigations, research projects, and other assignments.
- Provides administrative coverage of the office such as answering phone and maintaining computer data.
- Types documents such as letters and creates spreadsheets and presentations.
- Assists with research projects, data analysis, and/or creating various reports.
- Assists with entering data and filing.
- Communicates verbally and in writing with all levels within the System and with the public.
