About The Position

The Generator Rental Prep Coordinator - Power Systems is responsible for ensuring rental equipment is 'Rent Ready' both cosmetically and mechanically. This involves maintaining equipment for immediate customer shipment, including cleaning, detailing, painting, and ensuring all safety and liability components are in place. The role also includes receiving and checking in rental equipment, maintaining equipment data, loading and unloading equipment, performing weekly function runs, and organizing support equipment. Additionally, the position requires coordination with other branches and vendors, participation in an on-call rotation which may involve after-hours work and travel to job sites for equipment setup assistance.

Requirements

  • Formal Education: Some High School
  • Experience: 1-2 years
  • Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
  • Must have a valid license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.
  • Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude.

  • High School Diploma or related equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure rental equipment is cosmetically 'Rent Ready' by cleaning, detailing, dusting, decaling, touch-up painting, and tire shining.
  • Ensure rental equipment is 'Rent Ready' from a safety and liability perspective by verifying proper components like ladders, handrails, jackstands, landing pads, fire extinguishers, and legible decals.
  • Ensure rental equipment is mechanically 'Rent Ready' by setting voltage, checking battery age, inspecting filters, topping off fluids, ensuring proper fuel levels, and running machines for 30 minutes.
  • Receive and perform official Check In for rental/support equipment, reporting hours, fuel level, damage, cable count, and service needs.
  • Notify local Supervisor, branch service shop Leadman, and Fleet Service Coordinator of equipment status and needs.
  • Confirm License Tag and DOT expiration dates and coordinate with the Truck Shop for updates if necessary.
  • Maintain all pertinent equipment data on a communal computer platform, including model, serial numbers, hours, availability, service needs, tag number, VIN, GPS number, and DOT expiration.
  • Load and unload equipment on trucks using a lift truck and/or overhead crane.
  • Retrieve equipment from the inventory yard using a farm tractor, lift truck, or yard jockey.
  • Refuel, add oil and engine fluids to equipment as needed.
  • Assist Service shops as requested.
  • Keep the rental yard and working locations clean, organized, and free of debris, maintaining order by model size.
  • Perform weekly function runs (at least 30 minutes) of equipment on the yard to ensure proper operation and minimize field service calls.
  • Utilize Rental's fuel filtration system and load bank for optimum equipment performance.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other shops and departments (generator shop, truck shop, fab shop, paint shop, transportation) to complete rental fleet work.
  • Count, sort, and place support equipment (cable, tails, hardware, hose, fittings, duct) on pallets, shelves, racks, or bins.
  • Categorize and label support equipment with identifying information.
  • Maintain a neat and organized warehouse, including labeling ropaks, coiling and banding cable sections, and combining like tails.
  • Take and record inventory weekly and upload to digital Yard Walk each Friday.
  • Participate in the annual corporate inventory audit.
  • Coordinate with Rental Support Reps at other branches to ensure proper levels of ancillary equipment and supplies.
  • Prepare parcels for mailing and/or looping to other branches.
  • Communicate and coordinate with outside vendors and haulers (freight providers, tire repair, door repair, GPS installers).
  • Update Ring Power stakeholders.
  • Participate in On Call rotation, requiring after-hours response on nights and weekends.
  • Respond to Supervisor calls within 15 minutes during assigned On Call rotation for emergency rentals.
  • Drive to the branch to prep a unit for shipment and meet transportation providers for loading.
  • Occasionally drive to job sites to assist with assembling/disassembling rental equipment.
  • Pull cable and hose on job sites to assist customers with rental equipment setup.
  • Perform proper installation of equipment including cable, water hose, chiller hose, air hose, and ductwork.
  • Install cam lock fittings on 4/0 cable and various sizes of water hose.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
