About The Position

The Generalist Inventory & Process will play an important role in supporting accurate inventory, production reporting, and financial processes at the West Hershey plant, a high-speed, complex union manufacturing environment. This role helps ensure data accuracy, strong controls, and reliable reporting across inventory, production, and plant accounting activities. This position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, partnering across teams, and contributing to the success of one of Hershey’s key manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounting, operational, inventory control, plant finance, manufacturing reporting, or related experience required.
  • Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills, analytical ability, attention to detail, collaboration, adaptability, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Comfortable supporting periodic flexible work hours during physical inventories, month-end close, and budgeting cycles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with inventory controls, reconciliations, reporting, variance analysis, internal controls, or manufacturing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and analyze inventory processes across Manufacturing, Warehousing, and Storeroom, including raw material cycle counts, physical inventory support, rework counts, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies, including GR/IR issues, Bill of Lading reconciliation, SAP/S4 documentation accuracy, and defective packaging debit memo support.
  • Support production reporting and analytics by reviewing anomalies, variances, downtime drivers, rework, waste, overweight, and line-level performance data.
  • Help serve as an S4 site resource for West Hershey by troubleshooting system issues, supporting plant users, and partnering with IT and external support teams as needed.
  • Support plant accounting and financial processes, including fixed assets, reconciliations, monthly reporting, budget inputs, cost center reviews, and compliance-related activities.
  • Identify process gaps, support internal controls, contribute to audit readiness, and help implement improvements that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and execution quality.
  • Provide reporting, training, and cross-functional support to Manufacturing, Plant Management, QA, Logistics, and plant accounting partners.
