About The Position

This role is responsible for managing payroll administration, employee benefits programs, and various HR generalist functions. The individual will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and effective administration of employee benefits such as health, dental, vision, and retirement plans. Additionally, the role involves supporting recruitment, employee relations, policy compliance, and HR reporting.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent from four-year College, combined with 3+ years of Human Resources experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, UKG) and HRIS platforms.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, Ultipro and/or other payroll processing software.

Responsibilities

  • Process and verify payroll in an accurate and timely manner
  • Maintain payroll records, including wages, deductions, and adjustments
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
  • Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries
  • Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, retirement, leave programs, etc.)
  • Manage benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Monitor compliance with employment laws (FLSA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits questions and issue resolution
  • Coordinate open enrollment, including communication and education
  • Work with benefit vendors and brokers to ensure effective program delivery
  • Support audits related to payroll, benefits, and HR practices
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Assists in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Assists in planning and conducting new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Assists in coordinating management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Supports and actively assists in administering performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carriers.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as food vending, transportation, or relocation service.
