The Embedded Therapists at Cornell Health's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) are fully in-person and located in satellite locations across Cornell’s campuses (Ithaca and Cornell Tech). These roles serve as members of a multidisciplinary service team with primary responsibility for ameliorating mental health conditions and related issues typically experienced by undergraduate, graduate, and professional students in academic environments. The Embedded Therapist reports directly to the Assistant Director of Embedded Services within CAPS and maintains a close collaborative relationship with the academic college(s)/school(s) they support. Physically located within academic buildings across campus, this role provides single session therapy, short-term individual counseling, group workshops, tailored outreach and programming, referrals, consultation and additional services as needs arise. The Embedded Therapist serves as a point of contact for mental health education and prevention strategies across the academic unit(s) and will consult with staff and faculty regarding student mental health issues.
