About The Position

The General Warehouse Worker (Perishable) handles merchandise accurately and promptly into and/or out of a warehouse facility. The role works primarily in an assigned area of warehouse operations and supports all warehouse areas as needed. Duties include moving, checking, identifying, labeling, palletizing, replenishing, selecting, and loading merchandise, as well as reporting issues and meeting safety, productivity, and quality standards.

Requirements

Communication skills sufficient to communicate with co-workers, understand and provide directions, respond to management inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
Basic knowledge of simple math concepts.
Ability to use a Radio Frequency Unit.
Ability to learn basic use and operation of motorized merchandise movement equipment.
Ability to maintain annual certification requirements.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience working in an automated distribution center preferred.
Experience with warehouse management systems applications preferred.

Responsibilities

Move incoming or outgoing merchandise throughout the distribution center by hand, hand truck, or forklift equipment.
Check, verify, and audit merchandise to confirm that ordered merchandise was received, matches the order, and is not damaged or defective; enter data into a remote data terminal.
Identify, separate, label, and palletize merchandise onto flats.
Replenish pick areas based on replenishment reports and merchandise requests.
Fill store merchandise orders by selecting and moving merchandise from pick slots to a conveyor.
Load outgoing merchandise from a conveyor and/or four-wheel truck into a trailer.
Report damages and vendor compliance issues to a supervisor.
Partner with supervisors to resolve problems or discrepancies.
Meet safety, productivity, and quality standards.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
