General Utility Worker
About The Position
The position is responsible for facilities and grounds maintenance, assisting with various construction and woodworking projects, and performing general janitorial services as assigned by the supervisor. This position requires experience in operating outdoor power equipment such as lawn mower, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, leaf blower etc. and perform other duties such as pulling weeds, mulching, shoveling and raking as well as watering grass and flower beds. This position will be assigned to the Carpentry Shop, and the applicant should have basic knowledge of hand tools. Other duties include assisting the carpenter shop with various construction and woodworking projects, such as building wooden boxes, decks, and porches etc. The primary role is to support the crew. The position is exposed to heat, cold and dust. The position requires physical effort as found in cleaning and general land scaping maintenance. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in operating outdoor power equipment such as lawn mower, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, leaf blower
- Experience performing duties such as pulling weeds, mulching, shoveling and raking
- Experience watering grass and flower beds
- Basic knowledge of hand tools
- Experience in the performance of a variety of manual tasks that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade equivalent to one year of experience.

- Experience moving relatively heavy objects and completing manual tasks for considerable periods of time
