About The Position

The General Utilities position is responsible for properly washing and storing all dishes, trays, eating utensils, cups, and small equipment for the kitchen. This role also involves assisting in portioning, peeling, and cleaning food as requested. The General Utilities person maintains the dish room and dish machine in a sanitary and efficient manner and is responsible for cleaning the dining room, including lavatories and common areas. The core purpose is to make “Raving Fans” of associates, guests, purveyors, partners, and the communities in which the company does business.

Responsibilities

  • Properly wash and store all dishes, trays, eating utensils, cups, and small equipment for the kitchen.
  • Assist in portioning, peeling, and cleaning food as requested.
  • Maintain the dish room and dish machine in a sanitary and efficient manner.
  • Clean the dining room, including lavatories and common areas.
  • Report to work on time as indicated on the work schedule.
  • Ensure uniform meets restaurant requirements and is maintained and cleaned.
  • Practice positive personal hygiene and cleanliness habits during all work shifts.
  • Exemplify hospitality standards.
  • Answer guests' questions about the restaurant.
  • Handle requests and complaints with guest satisfaction as the priority.
  • Cooperate with management and co-workers to assist others with duties, if needed.
  • Communicate suggestions for improvement in a positive fashion.
  • Follow all national, state, and local safety, health, and sanitation guidelines as specified by the restaurant.
  • Report potentially unsafe conditions and use materials and equipment properly.
  • Know emergency procedures in the restaurant.
  • Perform all duties and maintain knowledge of all standards and procedures as stated in the associate handbook.
