About The Position

The purpose of this position is to perform preventive maintenance, installation, construction, remodeling and repair work on plant facilities, services and production equipment. Responsible for utilizing a variety of skills including carpenter, millwright, pipefitter, welder, tinner and mechanic. Works from complex three-dimensional blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions. Performs maintenance, installation, construction, remodeling, major overhauls, and repairs to all types of plant facilities and equipment. Maintains production machinery and equipment requiring the use of trades and mechanics tools such as: Drill press, grinder, welder, saws, pipe threader, cutting torch, belter, shear, bending brake, forklift truck, hand tools, etc.

Requirements

New York State Journeyman card in applicable trade is required.
Requires the willingness and ability to work off shifts (2nd and/or 3rd), holidays and weekends.

Nice To Haves

2 to 4 years’ experience is preferred.
Experience in manufacturing maintenance is desired.
Demonstrates competency in the following areas: Machine maintenance and repair, Rigging equipment and handling, Installation of machinery and equipment, Pipefitting, Cutting and welding, Sheet metal working, General Carpentry

Responsibilities

Performing various maintenance tasks on plant facilities and equipment.
Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
Responsible for understanding and following applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory consideration.
