The Department of Clinical Sciences at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a full-time, 12-month/year appointment in small animal general surgery. The successful candidate will be appointed to either a tenure-track or a non-tenure-track position, depending on their experience, qualifications, and interest. The role involves teaching, clinical service, and research/scholarly activity. Teaching responsibilities include professional veterinary medicine and postgraduate training programs related to orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. Clinical responsibilities may encompass both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, or solely soft tissue surgery, based on the candidate's preference and background. FTE assignments for clinical service and research are negotiable. Clinical service includes patient care, surgical interventions, teaching veterinary medical students and interns, resident training, and consultations with private practitioners. Participation in after-hours emergency surgery backup for surgical residents is required.
