About The Position
Prime Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join the medical staff at Olympia Fields Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled, collaborative surgeon to build a successful practice while providing high-quality surgical care to patients throughout Chicago’s south suburban communities. The ideal candidate will provide a broad range of general surgery services and work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing teams, and hospital leadership to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in General Surgery.
- Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
- Active or eligible for Illinois medical licensure.
- Strong clinical skills with a commitment to evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and teamwork.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in trauma/surgical critical care is a plus but not required; new graduates and experienced surgeons are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide array of general surgical procedures, including but not limited to hernia repairs, gallbladder surgery, appendectomies, colorectal interventions, breast surgery, endocrine procedures, and basic thoracic/vascular cases.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in tumor boards, trauma rounds, and quality initiatives to optimize patient care and outcomes.
- Participate in call coverage for emergency and trauma services.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards in our integrated EMR system.
