General Surgery Physician Assistant (Surgical Oncology)
About The Position
Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in central New York and a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the Department of Surgery - Division of Surgical Oncology. This individual will fill an integral role with the operative team as first assistant to Oncologic surgeons including Robotic surgeons. Responsibilities may also include clinic and hospital coverage (rounding, admitting and consulting) as needed. Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region. Join an established General Surgery group of 10 Surgeons and 6 Advanced Practice Clinicians.
Requirements
- National Certification as a Physician Assistant - NCCPA
- NYS Licensure
- BLS Certification
- DEA Required
Nice To Haves
- Previous surgical experience preferred
- New grads are encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
- First assist to Oncologic surgeons, including Robotic surgeons.
- Clinic and hospital coverage, including rounding, admitting, and consulting as needed.
