About The Position
Carle Health is seeking an additional BE/BC General Surgeon to join their Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Department in Urbana, Illinois. The candidate will work out of Carle Foundation Hospital, a 509-bed regional hospital and the area’s only Level I Trauma Center. This role offers a wide variety of cases and a flexible call schedule of 20, 12-hr shifts per month. The position requires experience and a continued interest in working with surgical residents and medical students, and the ability to qualify for a faculty appointment with the University of Illinois College of Medicine. There is an opportunity for academic and/or research affiliation with the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, the nation’s first medical school focused at the intersection of healthcare and engineering, and the opportunity to participate in bench and clinical research.
Requirements
- BE/BC General Surgeon
- Completed an ACGME accredited General Surgery residency
- Experience and a continued interest working with surgical residents/medical students
- Qualify for faculty appointment with the University of Illinois College of Medicine
