About The Position

Skilled Wound Care, a premier national physician group, is hiring General Surgeons in Sacramento, CA to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area. This no-call General Surgeon job offers a high-impact surgical career without the corporate red tape. This is a refreshing alternative to a specialty where being on call can mean missed dinners, cancelled vacations and 2 a.m. emergency cases. This is a true Monday–Friday surgeon job, so your evenings and weekends belong to you and your family. Bedside procedures are far less physically demanding than long OR cases, so the strain on your back, neck and shoulders goes down and you can keep practicing for years to come. You will have clinical autonomy to direct patient outcomes based on your surgical expertise, not a hospital committee or department hierarchy. Our custom software is designed to slash admin time, so you’re not stuck charting at midnight when you could be home at a reasonable hour.

Requirements

• Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Medical License: Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one)
• DEA License: Or eligibility to obtain one
• Open Background: We welcome General Surgeons and surgeons of all backgrounds, as well as Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians.
• No previous wound care experience is required; we provide comprehensive wound care training

Responsibilities

• Use the latest advancements in wound healing to change lives in communities across Sacramento, CA
• Surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures
• Evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing and complex wounds
• Advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols
• Collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, where you follow patients through healing
