About The Position
We are seeking a General Surgeon for a Locum Tenens position in Bay City, MI. This is an inpatient role covering 24-hour call shifts, 9 to 11 days per month, from 7 AM to 7 AM. The coverage includes hospital consults, ED trauma, general surgery call, and transfer center patients. The position requires handling 5-8 phone consults per 24-hour call period. The facility is a Level III Trauma center with onsite lab, radiology, and procedure rooms. EMR system used is Cerner. All diagnostic imaging capabilities are available except for barium enema or esophageal/swallow studies.
Requirements
- Active MI License
- Board Certified in General Surgery (BC)
- DEA
- NPDB Self-query (to be pulled within 30 days)
- Experience with adult and trauma general surgical cases
- Proficiency in central line and chest tube insertion
- Proficiency in abdominal and vascular access device procedures
- Proficiency in cholecystectomy
