About The Position
Skilled Wound Care is hiring General Surgeons in McKenzie, TN to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area. This role offers a refreshing alternative to traditional surgical practice, focusing on a no-call, Monday-Friday schedule with clinical autonomy and reduced administrative burden. Surgeons can maintain their surgical skills through bedside procedures and debridement, while benefiting from a sustainable career that is less physically demanding than traditional OR cases. Requirements
- Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Medical License: Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one)
- DEA License: Or eligibility to obtain one
- Open Background: We welcome General Surgeons and surgeons of all backgrounds, as well as Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians.
- No previous wound care experience is required; we provide comprehensive wound care training
Responsibilities
- Surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures
- Evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing and complex wounds
- Advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols
- Collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, where you follow patients through healing
