General Surgeon
About The Position
Skilled Wound Care is hiring General Surgeons in Alexandria, Louisiana, to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings. The role offers clinical autonomy and a weekday schedule without nights, weekends, or on-call duties. Physicians perform bedside procedures, including surgical and sharp debridement, while evaluating and treating chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds. They use advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols and follow patients through healing in collaboration with skilled nursing facility teams. The role is available part-time or full-time. No prior wound care experience is required; comprehensive wound care training is provided. Candidates must complete confidential pre-employment DiSC testing and relevant skills testing.
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited institution.
- Unrestricted or clear medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
- DEA license, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Complete confidential pre-employment DiSC testing and relevant skills testing.
Nice To Haves
- Previous wound care experience is not required; comprehensive wound care training is provided.
