About The Position

As an Abdominal Wall Reconstruction / Hernia Surgeon, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and an excellent patient experience. In this role, you will focus your practice on complex hernia care and abdominal wall reconstruction while working alongside an established abdominal wall reconstruction expert in a growing subspecialty service. You will collaborate within a multidisciplinary program supported by integrated bariatric and metabolic care, contribute to ongoing program development, and participate in teaching opportunities with students and residents. You’ll practice at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. The schedule includes a mix of clinic and operating room time (typically 2 days clinic and 2 days OR). Call is shared across a five-surgeon rotation and currently includes 24-hour Saturday call along with shared night and Sunday coverage, with a longer-term transition toward a more subspecialty-focused model. Opportunity to help build and grow a specialized abdominal wall reconstruction program.

Requirements

MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery
Abdominal Wall Reconstruction fellowship or strong equivalent experience with demonstrable case volume (case logs if no fellowship)
Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
BLS, ACLS certification and DEA
Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process

Responsibilities
