Testing Required: Hybrid Role: This role is hybrid, with an established schedule of in-person work required at an assigned work location. Any remote work is expected to be performed from an employee’s primary residence, unless allowed (or prohibited) through the Company’s remote work guidelines. Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers. Job SummaryOversees and leads first level supervisors and employees in the utilization of available resources to plan, schedule, and execute prevailing priorities and productivity considerations for Corporate Services operational groups of Facilities, Fleet, or Supply Chain. Ensures resource management, operational efficiencies, service levels and safety targets compliance. Partners strategically with senior leadership in developing goals and targets for applicable company priorities. Optimizes processes and budgets to balance various business unit partner demands with organization financial strategies. Span of control: Leads a team of 10 – 50 employees including direct and second level reports across multiple shifts and company locations. Facility Operations: Leads the operation of facility locations, including energy supply plants and operations, headquarters, and service center sites. Manages maintenance strategies, budgets, and capital planning, driving workforce development and supporting labor management processes. Participates in the planning and execution of work during Fermi refuel outages. Fleet Operations: Oversees fleet operations teams supporting vehicle maintenance, repairs, and services. Leads the execution of the Fleet ISO 9001 Quality Management System for Fleet. Leads deployment of fleet assets and equipment ensuring specifications and business needs are met. Partners with business units to conduct vehicle accident and equipment investigations. Fleet Procurement: Oversees the fleet asset lifecycle management, from vehicle specification and ordering to inspections, safety, quality, and logistics. Completes processes for licensing, titles, permits, renewals, and DOT filings to ensure fleet is road‑ready. Maintains vendor partnerships and acts as contact for vehicle builds, equipment rentals, and new product evaluations. Warehouse: Oversees material management, procurement, inventory, and supplier relations for business units operations. Partners with business units and vendors to obtain transportation equipment quotes, identify cost-effective storage locations, and allocate equipment and materials for service center locations. Provides material support for emergencies and outages, sourcing, securing, and coordinating materials. Responsible for Profit and Loss management of Investment Recovery operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 9 years of experience in fleet operations, facility management, supply chain/logistics, maintenance (facilities or fleet), plant operations, industrial or operational environment (facilities, fleet, or supply chain), inclusive of 3 years of leadership experience e.g. supervisor, team lead, or program/project management lead.
  • Associate’s degree in business, supply chain/logistics, automotive servicing/technology, facilities management, construction management, project management, or engineering technology and 7 years of experience in fleet operations, facility management, supply chain/logistics, maintenance (facilities or fleet), plant operations, industrial or operational environment (facilities, fleet, or supply chain), inclusive of 3 years of leadership experience e.g. supervisor, team lead, or program/project management lead.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain/logistics, automotive servicing/technology, facilities management, construction management, project management, engineering technology or engineering and 5 years of experience in fleet operations, facility management, supply chain/logistics, maintenance (facilities or fleet), plant operations, industrial or operational environment (facilities, fleet, or supply chain), inclusive of 3 years of leadership experience e.g. supervisor, team lead, or program/project management lead.
  • Able to make decisions under pressure, build consensus, and make difficult/unpopular decisions and consider impact of decisions.
  • Ability to conduct effective and efficient meetings; manages meetings with forward progress, achieving milestones and optimal results
  • Proficient verbal, written and presentation skills; communicate clearly with credibility and confidence
  • Ability to travel and work at different locations within and outside of Corporate Services service area.
  • Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

  • Participates in the Union/Management activities including partnership teams, bargaining sessions and grievances, while providing leadership aligned with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ensures employees receive required safety training and all work is in accordance with applicable company, state (MISOSHA) and federal (OSHA) safety, health and environmental standards, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Manages operations within approved budgets and identifies capital project needs to prepare requests, striving for additional production performance effectiveness and new methods to control costs.
  • Manages fleet operations, fleet assets, or facility operations (grounds, structures, building equipment, and client services) for code compliance, regulatory or safety standards.
  • Reviews and improves maintenance routines and frequency to extend asset life.
  • Coordinates fleet assets to ensure vehicles or equipment meet specifications or business needs and manages retrofits and modifications to ensure federal and state regulations, safety, and quality.
  • Provides material support to business units during emergencies and outages, partnering with procurement to source and secure materials and coordinating with Logistics to ensure timely material availability or expedite shipments.
