About The Position

AECOM is currently seeking a General Superintendent to work on a Healthcare Facility located in Brooklyn, NY. This role is not remote and requires on-site presence. Within this role, the individual will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of various scope projects in an active hospital, including building construction, reconstruction, and renovation, as well as various MEP upgrades and sitework. The successful candidate will be capable of working alone and/or as part of a team and interact with clients, design consultants, contractors, and various project stakeholders, managing projects through their lifecycles, including extensive coordination with stakeholders, concurrent construction contracts, and closeout of contracts to ensure that projects are of high quality and delivered in the most expeditious, efficient manner possible.

Requirements

BA/BS in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management plus 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Nice To Haves

Experience with general contractor contracts in NY City.
Projects Experience in active healthcare Facilities.
Superintendent or Construction Manager with 8-10 years’ experience managing new construction, reconstruction, and renovation of various building types and MEP upgrades.
Coordination with several on-going concurrent projects within same construction footprint.
Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and project tracking systems such as Procore or Primavera P6.
NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) Construction Superintendent License preferred
SST Supervisor Certification preferred
NY Registration as a Professional Engineer, or Registered Architect, considered highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

Providing oversight and direction to enable projects to be completed on time and on budget.
Serving as a liaison for those managing design, contractor, commissioning, and end users to ensure smooth project delivery.
Assisting in the sequencing and coordination of projects, including the hospital facility staff.
Utilizing various platforms and software to ensure efficient client review and approval pathways; reviewing plans and documents and providing feedback to various entities, and researching best practices to progress project delivery.
Contact with consultants, engineers, planners, architects, landscape architects, contractors, and representatives of Health + Hospitals, various City departments, civic, community, and governmental organizations will be an aspect of the work.
