Requirements

  • 1-year minimum experience as a GS/Lube technician
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Current driver’s licenses
  • Energetic, upbeat, and have a positive attitude
  • Seek out solutions to tough problems with a strong passion for doing what's right for our guests

Responsibilities

  • Perform all maintenance work such as oil changes, tire rotations, suspension alignments, etc.
  • Follow all rules and regulations as spoken or written by management, including the employee handbook and any addendums.
  • Maintain a good and positive attitude and uphold the team concept at all times.
  • Act in a professional manner suitable to represent a quality organization, projecting honesty, integrity, and respectfulness.
  • Adhere to all OSHA safety rules and regulations, as well as all city, county, and state regulations regarding shop safety, fuel spill clean up, or other flammable or hazardous materials.
  • Assist in all housekeeping functions as directed by management.
  • Examine vehicles and discuss with the service writer/service manager the nature and extent of any damage or malfunction.
  • Provide recommendations for repair, list necessary parts, and estimate hours required using industry standard labor guides.
  • Provide a list of all items needing attention, whether maintenance, safety, or other.
  • Perform a thorough Courtesy Inspection on all vehicles when approved by the customer.
  • Ensure all under-car, under-hood, and preventive maintenance inspections and reports are complete and accurate.
  • Raise vehicles with hydraulic jacks or lifts to gain access to mechanical units bolted to the underside of the vehicle, using proper equipment and safety procedures.
  • Perform state-mandated vehicle emission and safety inspections in accordance with state regulations.
  • Work as part of a team to troubleshoot guest concerns quickly and effectively.
  • Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA right-to-know.
  • Work closely with the service department and effectively communicate the extent of any damage or malfunctions on a guest's vehicle.
  • Follow and promote high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.
