About The Position

Charlie's Complete Auto Service, an independent, family-owned automotive repair shop serving South Jersey for over 22 years, is seeking an experienced and dependable General Service / C-Level Automotive Technician. This is not an entry-level position; professional automotive repair experience is required. The technician will independently perform routine maintenance, thorough vehicle inspections, and basic mechanical repairs, while accurately identifying and documenting maintenance and repair needs. The role offers guaranteed hourly pay of $20.00–$25.00 based on experience and demonstrated abilities, a four-day workweek with 10-hour shifts, and no weekends. The shop provides modern equipment and specialty tools. This independently owned shop makes its own hiring decisions.

Requirements

• Previous professional automotive repair experience is required; 1–2 years is preferred.
• Ability to independently perform routine maintenance and general service repairs.
• Strong attention to detail and thorough vehicle inspection skills.
• Ability to accurately document findings using a digital inspection system.
• Must have own basic automotive tools; specialty equipment is provided.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Dependable, organized, and committed to quality workmanship.

Nice To Haves

• Experience performing brake repairs, tire services, and wheel alignments.
• ASE certifications; preferred but not required.
• Experience with Tekmetric or similar shop management software.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVIs), including photographs, detailed notes, and accurate documentation of maintenance and safety concerns.
• Perform oil changes and preventive maintenance services.
• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires.
• Perform wheel alignments.
• Inspect and replace brake pads, rotors, and related components.
• Perform basic mechanical repairs, including batteries, filters, belts, and other general maintenance.
• Identify and document recommended repairs and maintenance needs.
• Communicate inspection findings clearly to service advisors.
• Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
