About The Position

Grubbs Volvo Cars Grapevine is part of the Grubbs Family of Dealerships, a multi-brand, family-owned automotive group. We are seeking an experienced General Sales Manager to lead our sales operation and drive growth. This is a high-impact leadership role with full ownership of new and used vehicle sales, F&I coordination, desk management, and team development. You will work directly with ownership and store leadership, with your decisions and results being recognized.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of automotive management experience, including time working the desk.
  • Proven used car management experience — you know how to buy right, price right, and turn inventory.
  • Track record of hitting and exceeding gross and volume targets.
  • Strong leadership presence — you develop people, not just manage them.
  • Clean driving record and background.

Nice To Haves

  • Luxury or premium brand experience is a plus, but the right leader can learn the brand.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team in a luxury brand environment.
  • Manage the desk — structure deals, maximize front and back gross, and maintain a healthy gross-per-unit average.
  • Drive new and used vehicle sales performance, including sourcing, appraising, and managing used inventory to market.
  • Partner with F&I to ensure a smooth, compliant, and profitable customer experience.
  • Monitor and manage key metrics: closing ratios, CSI, inventory turn, and gross per unit.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain top sales talent.
  • Own the sales floor culture — high energy, customer-first, accountability-driven.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager on forecasting, floor planning, and monthly objectives.
