About The Position

The General Sales Manager is responsible for leading and directing all sales operations for the company to achieve revenue growth, market share expansion, profitability goals, and customer satisfaction objectives. This position oversees key account development, pricing strategies, supplier relationships, and overall sales team performance within a fast-paced beverage distribution environment. The General Sales Manager will develop strategic sales plans, drive execution across all channels, and ensure alignment between sales and delivery teams to maximize customer service and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and approved driving record.
  • 5 years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and sales reporting systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all sales functions including territory sales, key accounts, and sales administration.
  • Develop and execute annual sales plans, budgets, and growth strategies.
  • Establish sales goals, performance metrics, and accountability standards for all sales personnel.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop sales and operations team.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, retail partners, and large corporate accounts.
  • Monitor pricing, promotional programs, merchandising execution, and product placement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to ensure efficient product flow and customer service.
  • Review and manage sales forecasting, inventory planning, and route profitability.
  • Conduct regular market visits and rides with sales staff to evaluate performance and customer relationships.
  • Lead sales meetings, training programs, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on sales productivity and operational excellence.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership regarding sales performance and market opportunities.
  • Manage department expenses and maintain budget accountability.
