About The Position

We are looking for a General Radiology Operator to join our collaborative team at Memorial Health! This role involves performing limited radiography independently, including digital x-rays of chests, abdomens, extremities, spine, and DEXA scans, while adhering to radiation safety principles and Ohio Administrative Code. The operator will provide pre-exam instructions, verify patient understanding, maintain patient history using EMR PACS, scan reports, and burn CDs as requested. The position also includes participation in process improvement initiatives, special projects, and exhibiting behaviors aligned with Memorial’s core values: Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Service. The role requires regular and predictable attendance, completion of mandatory education and health requirements, and adherence to the hospital’s Ethics and Compliance program.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary education, and a state approved general radiation and protection course.
  • Licensed by the Ohio Department of Health for General X-ray Machine Operator (GXMO) in digital x-ray and DEXA scan.

Responsibilities

  • Performs limited radiography independently, including, but not limited to, digital x-rays of chests, abdomens, extremities, spine and DEXA scans.
  • Follows radiation safety principals and completes exams according to the Ohio Administrative Code.
  • Provides pre-exam instructions, verifies patient/caregiver understanding of instructions; maintains patient history files by utilizing the EMR Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), scans patient reports; burns CDs as requested for release.
  • Participates in process improvement, both departmental and hospital-wide.
  • Special projects as dictated by supervisor.

  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
  • Attends all mandatory education and in-services (i.e., team training, safety, infection control, etc.); completes mandatory health requirements.
  • Employee performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital’s and department’s Ethics and Compliance program and is responsible to detect, observe and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, or upward through the chain of command, the Compliance Officer, or the hospital hotline.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
