About The Position
The General Purpose Worker I - Custodian is responsible for a wide variety of work involving operation of a school site, including custodial work, maintenance and grounds work, cafeteria work, and student supervision. The position requires the physical ability to maintain grounds, facilities, and equipment and perform heavy cleaning duties. Duties include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, or vacuuming floors; understanding chemicals used to scrub, sanitize, and disinfect facilities; and basic knowledge of tools pertaining to specific jobs.
Requirements
- Fingerprint clearance.
- Tuberculosis clearance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Physical ability to maintain grounds, facilities, and equipment and perform heavy cleaning duties.
- Basic operation of equipment and supplies used for floor cleaning.
- Understanding of chemicals used to scrub, sanitize, and disinfect facilities.
- Basic knowledge of tools pertaining to specific jobs.
- Letter of introduction.
- Three letters of recommendation, dated and signed within the last three years.
- Resume.
