About The Position

This position is responsible for entry-level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position could work in any area of the Fresh Processing including the DSI, Debone, Deli lines, and Evisceration. The role also involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This includes monitoring equipment during production, making necessary repairs or adjustments, documenting corrections, performing preventive maintenance, rebuilding equipment, assisting with new equipment installation, and performing general maintenance throughout the facility. Tasks include greasing, changing oil, and cleaning plant equipment, monitoring equipment and computer boards, and troubleshooting mechanical problems using schematics and blueprints. The position requires working other shifts when necessary and understanding and agreeing to follow safety rules like Lockout/Tagout, and complying with OSHA standards. Close collaboration with other maintenance personnel is expected for information exchange. The role also requires working with fragile devices needing precise attention and performing other duties as requested by the supervisor. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Rehire criteria include a minimum waiting period of 180 days and a maximum of three previous employment periods at Tyson Foods.

Requirements

  • Entry-level non-skilled general labor.

  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Capable of moving equipment, machinery, etc., in excess of 40 pounds when needed.
  • Must be able to work on and inspect equipment, which may involve bending, turning, stooping, twisting, and climbing.
  • Able to move freely throughout the plant over and around equipment, people and other Obstacles.
  • Able to tolerate climates ranging from very cold to very hot and form very wet to very dry.
  • Must be able to communicate and get along well with others.
  • Must be able to climb ladders.
  • Must be able to reach, lift and work overhead.
  • Must be able to walk, stand or sit for the duration of the shift.
  • Must be able to complete mandatory online training.

Responsibilities
