About The Position
This entry-level position offers on-the-job training in all aspects of production, from clean-up to machine operation, with the potential for a lifelong career. The General Production Employee will join the White Valley Division in Lumby, British Columbia, which produces veneer for the Armstrong Plywood facility. This division sustainably produces 225,000 million square feet of veneer annually for global customers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Commitment to working safely.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, in a physically demanding industrial environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Must be able to work varying shifts.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a forest products environment considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively across your team to safely and efficiently produce veneer.
- Perform a variety of labour duties to increase productivity and reduce safety risks.
- Identify, analyze and troubleshoot problems that might arise in your area.
- Communicate with your Team Lead and Maintenance teams to ensure things stay on track.
