This is an opportunity for a Family Physician (FP) or Emergency Physician (EP) to work in a part-time position at a rapidly growing Urgent and Primary Care Clinic (UPCC) in Richmond. The UPCC provides urgent care for patients with non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses, and conditions that should be addressed within 12 to 24 hours, but do not require the service and expertise of a hospital emergency department (CTAS 3,4,5). Richmond UPCC is a busy clinic seeing patients of all ages. It is centrally located in Richmond and easily accessible by transit. Richmond UPCC is open 365 days a year with hours of operation 0800-2200 Monday to Saturday (including statutory holidays) and 0900-1700 on Sundays. UPCC provides team-based care with physicians working closely with nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and social workers. Diagnostics on site include X-ray, ECG, slit lamp, point of care ultrasound, and point of care urine testing. Specialist support and referrals are available through Richmond Hospital. Applicants should have experience in splinting and casting, suturing, and minor procedures. Patients will be supported to find primary care provider if unattached. The Richmond UPCC supports a healthy work-life balance and will focus on the professional development and satisfaction of its multidisciplinary team. The clinic supports learning, skill development and continuous quality improvement.
