About The Position

FNF Construction, Inc. is a general contractor providing heavy civil construction services throughout the Southwestern United States. We are seeking a General Operator with at least 5 years of experience. The General Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy construction equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and scrapers, to support earthmoving, grading, excavation, site development, and construction projects. This position requires the ability to operate multiple types of equipment, perform daily equipment inspections, maintain production goals, and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. The General Operator works closely with supervisors, grade checkers, and other crew members to ensure quality workmanship and project specifications are met. This is a safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all required safety training as scheduled and participate in all project TBT and safety meetings
  • Review SDS’s as needed
  • Perform pre and post shift inspections of assigned equipment and complete required logs/reports
  • Operate equipment in accordance with all company safety programs
  • Safely operate a variety of heavy equipment, not limited to; backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders and graders
  • Drive and control the equipment and perform road work, excavation work, lifting work, etc.
  • Operate the equipment in the right direction and angles to prevent accidents and damage of property
  • Operate the equipment manually and also through the use of electronic or technical methods of operation
  • Must communicate with other crew members to ensure daily schedules are met
  • Respond to signals and directions by the other tradesmen and work in coordination with them
  • Inspect, clean, and perform light maintenance and report all equipment malfunctions to supervisor
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment appropriate for the duties performed
  • Willing to work various shifts according to project needs and willing to travel throughout southwestern states as assigned
