About The Position

This is a 0.75 FTE (full-time equivalent) position shared between Waterford, Maple Grove, and Shuler elementary schools. The role involves teaching general music to students and directing music performances.

Requirements

• Valid Iowa teaching license
• K-8 Music endorsement
• Demonstrate aptitude for performing tasks listed
• Must exhibit ethical practices and be a role model to students
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

• Schedule, prepare, and direct elementary music performances
• Facilitate the selection process of students participating in honor choir
• Attend honor choir concert(s) with selected students
• Reserve rehearsal and performance facilities
• Arrange bussing for student concert rehearsals occurring at a separate performance facility
• Maintain availability outside of school for individual and small group assistance
• Collaborate with facility support staff as needed including Operations and Performing Arts Center Management
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the District
