About The Position

Martin Harley-Davidson is seeking a General Merchandise Manager to join our Harley-Davidson Louisville location. The General Merchandise Manager is responsible for operating a profitable and efficient general merchandise department. Will accomplish objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, building a loyal clientele, displaying and advertising. Ensure CSI rating is maintained at the highest level possible.

Requirements

High school diploma or the equivalent preferred.
Excellent oral communication skills. Must speak clearly on the telephone, and convey an image of professionalism and competence to callers.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
Ability to use computer applications including word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Responsibilities

Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.
Establish and maintain procedures to safeguard inventory.
Maintain appropriate inventory levels in accordance with industry standards.
Serve as liaison with factory representatives. Complete manufacturer meeting notes.
Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the General Merchandise department.
Understand and stay informed of and comply with federal, state and local regulations affecting merchandise sales.
Direct and schedule the activities of all general merchandise department employees.
Monitor general merchandise department employees’ payroll records.
Handle customer complaints immediately and according to facility guidelines.
Develop sales promotions.
Analyze sales, gross profit, expenses and inventory on a monthly basis to maintain profit goals.
Assist in the collection of past-due accounts.
Complete all training as directed by management.
Follow policies and procedures as set forth in Personnel Policy Manual and other corporate policies.
Any other duties as assigned.
