About The Position

Foodland Super Market, Ltd. is a locally owned and operated company with over 75 years of history in Hawaii. The company is currently hiring General Merchandise (GM) Clerks to join their team. This role involves ensuring the general merchandise section of the store is well-stocked and appealing to customers. General merchandise includes items such as health and beauty products, over-the-counter medicines, candy, magazines, tourist items, and seasonal merchandise. The position requires ordering, receiving, storing, and stocking products while maintaining proper inventory control, product rotation, and quality standards. Additionally, the role involves creating product displays, ensuring products are properly fronted, and managing product damages and credits according to company policy. Clerks must be knowledgeable about store products and their locations to assist customers effectively and be capable of performing cashier duties as needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to frequently lift, maneuver, and/or carry up to 50 pounds at, above and below waist level.
Must pass written, multiple choice math test.
Must have Tuberculosis Clearance required or Willing to take test upon offer.
Must comply with all company policies and requirements.
Speak/Read/Write - English.
Applicant should be able to reliably commute to work on time.
Must have open availability for various shifts as needed.

Evening and weekend availability is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure the general merchandise section of the store is well-stocked for customers.
Order, receive, store, and stock products.

Create and build product displays.
Ensure proper fronting of products.
Handle product damages and credits according to company policy.
Assist customers in locating items.
Perform all duties of a cashier as needed.
